my most embarassing moment Thursday, November 11, 2004 mood:
a couple of nights ago, i was having dinner with some of my officemates. midway through the meal, my friend hanz asked us "what's your most embarassing moment?" once he started with his story, everyone else followed with stories sooo hilarious, we almost peed in our pants! wanna know mine? well, i'm going to tell anyway. with illustrations pa! this happened when i was in 4th year high in san agustin. it was our history class, and our teacher had this idea for show-and-tell, highschool style. we were arranged into groups, and we were to go out of the classroom and find some item or object, then bring it back and explain to the class what people would think about that object 20 years from now. pretty simple. quite interesting, in fact. so off we go to find some cool object to show the class, when i chanced upon a kariton or push cart. now that was a cool object, if i may say so! everyone in the group agreed and loved the idea, so we got the kariton and started pushing it back to the classroom. we were feeling quite proud of ourselves actually! we hit a snag though. before we can get to our classroom, we had to pass by another classroom. no one wanted to be pushing the kariton, because people from that other class will see, and it's really quite embarassing to be seen pushing a kariton, right? they were all saying i should push the kariton, since i found the "cool" object anyway. no way! my crush was in that other classroom, and my reputation would be at stake. i couldn't afford to be seen by my crush pushing such an object as a kariton! and then...TING! i had a "bright" idea. before reaching that other classroom, i suggested that we push the kariton really hard and just let it glide on its own, until it goes past the classroom. ![]() then we could just casually walk past that other classroom, pick up the kariton from in front of our classroom, and roll it in the room for our presentation. it was fool proof! or so we thought... it seemed that the kariton had a life of its own. when i pushed it really hard, it did go forward...and right. and it went straight INSIDE that other classroom. where my crush was. and 40 other people, for that matter. ![]() when i heard the teacher shout "what was that?", i knew i had to go in and get it. so with my head held high, i entered the other classroom, said "excuse me", and got my kariton out of there. i exited to loud and uproarious laughter. things were never the same after that incident. and in my yearbook, you will see that my article says "Ms. Kariton." *sigh* the events that mold my life... have a story to tell? |
